In spite of its compact size and its light weight, the Sinarback 54 M is a thoroughly high-end product that produces images with maximal resolution in the 1-shot mode. In order to conform to the stringent Sinar quality standards, the CCD image sensor of the Sinarback 54 M is cooled by means of a Peltier element that is regulated by a temperature- and dew point sensor. Thanks to the integrated position sensor of the Sinarback 54 M, the images are automatically rotated into the correct orientation and before being stored. In combination with the modular Sinar m camera system, most Sinarback functions can be controlled via the direct connection between the Sinar m and the Sinarback 54 M. For demanding tasks, the Sinarback 54 M features a live image function for pixel-accurate focusing.

The photographer already experiences the first pleasant impression of the quickness of this digital back when he or she presses the power button, after which the eMotion takes only two seconds to be ready for action. But the digital back furnishes even more convincing proof of highly efficient operation with its very high rate of exposure sequences. Parallel recording of image data on an internal solid-state memory or on a Compact Flash Card are options that guarantee the highest data security.
